Our class enjoyed Crazy Hat and Socks Day in aid of the Halton Catholic Children's Education Fund. Thank you to those who donated to this worthwhile cause.

Lice Check

It's that time of year again! On Thursday, all Kindergarten students were checked for lice. We are pleased to report that there were no cases in our class!  It is advised that girls wear their hair in braids or in ponytails during this time.

PAT Time

We have now completed the alphabet and will start focusing on sound blends.  This week students are asked to bring in items that begin or end with "th".

Whooo wants to enjoy a healthy snack?

We do! Our class LOVES healthy snack and we thank the many parent volunteers who take time to prepare healthy snacks for St. Andrew's School community on a monthly basis.

Literacy

PAT Time

This coming week we will be focusing on the letter "x". Students will have the opportunity to bring in items that begin or end with x. PAT time is a special time for child. Please help them identify and choose PAT items as well as to practice their presentation at home. Some children rely on finding items in our classroom bin and they are sometimes uncomfortable sharing these items. Because this Friday is non-school day due to the professional activity day, those scheduled for Friday will present on Thursday. If you need another copy of the PAT schedule, please send a note in your child's communication book.

Snuggle-Up and Read

Please take time to read with your child.  Those who participate regularly in this program make progress in phonemic awareness and reading. If your child's folder has gone missing, we are happy to replace it!  Again, please send a note in your child's communication book if you need a replacement.

Rainy Day? Just dance!

We get our energy out by dancing!

Five Little Ducks

Five little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only four little ducks came back.

Four little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only three little ducks came back.

Three little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only two little ducks came back.

"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only one little duck came back.

One little duck
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But none of the five little ducks came back.

No little ducks
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back.

Celebrating Holy Week in Room 103

Palm Sunday

Holy Thursday

Thank you Mrs. Porteous and Miss Maddie for creating
our beautiful bouquet of handprint Easter lilies.

Children had the opportunity to make Resurrection bracelets on Thursday. Those who were away will have an opportunity to make one on Tuesday.

The Resurrection Bracelet

Red is for the blood He gave,
Green is for the grass He made,
Yellow is for the sun so bright,
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made
White is for the grace He gave
Purple is for His hour of sorrow
Pink is for His new tomorrow.
A wrist full of beads, colourful and sweet,
Is a prayer, is a promise, is a special treat.
May the joy of Christ's Resurrection fill your
heart and bless your life.

Chime-In

Bunny-Pokey

Sung to "Hokey Pokey"

You put your bunny ears in,
You put your bunny ears out,
You put your bunny ears in ,
And you shake them all about.
You do the Bunny-Pokey,
And you hop yourself around -
And that's what it's all about!

You put your bunny nose in,
You put your bunny nose out,
You put your bunny nose in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Bunny-Pokey,
And you hop yourself around -
And that's what it's all about!

You put your bunny tail in,
You put your bunny tail out,
You put your bunny tail in,
And you shake it all about,
You do the Bunny-Pokey,
And you hop yourself around -
And that's what it's all about!

The Easter Bunny

Sung to "London Bridge"

The Easter bunny has no tail,
has no tail, has no tail.
The Easter bunny has no tail:
He has a powder puff!

His ears are longer than his tail,
than his tail, than his tail.
His ears are longer than his tail:
He has a powder puff!

Wake up, Spring!

Wake up, flowers,
Wake up, weeds,
Wake up, frogs,
Wake up, seeds.
Wake up, bears,
Wake up, bees,
Wake up, spring,
Won't you, please!

We wish you a blessed Easter that is happy and holy.
Love,
Mrs. Cuggy-Murphy and Miss Coulson
